Nature offers an inexhaustible selection of motifs, especially with its play of light and shadow. I have less interest in an exact, naturalistic reproduction, but rather in the painterly implementation. When painting, I try to reproduce the mood of the moment that I felt when I saw it. Or I use the landscape as an inner mood image.

For the landscape motifs I use almost exclusively my own nature photographs. The abstract painting flows intuitively from me. It allows me even freer expression. Sometimes I also use symbolic drawings that regularly come to my mind, or appear from my subconscious on paper.
